Great Dane Breed Information:
The Great Danes are also referred to as German Mastiff and Danish Hound. It is a sweet, loving and joyful breed of domestic dogs well known because of their large size. Due to the size factor, they should always be supervised around children even though they behave properly. This breed of dogs is used for guarding purposes and does outstandingly well at this task. Due to the fact that they are one of the world’s tallest dog breeds, they are sometimes referred to as “The World’s Largest Lap Dog.”

Great Dane Health and Diseases:
On an average the Great Danes live for 6.5 to 7 years. They suffer from gastric dilatation-volvulus, Gastropexy, blats, dilated cardiomyopathy, and heart diseases. They are given the nickname “Heartbreak breed” because of the heart diseases and shorter lifespan.
