The Chinese Chongqing Dog is a rare breed of dogs having emerged in the Chongqing city of China, 2000 years ago during the rule of Han Dynasty. In the beginning it was used as hunters for wild boar and rabbits but now it is used to guard families and belongings. After 1949, the number of the breeds was reduced to a great extent, and it is still a rare breed even in China.
