The Brittany Spaniel is a very intelligent dog breed, this breed is known to do well in hunting sports. Considered to be quite a gentle breed that is very obedience and very eager to please its owners. Alert, lively, and independent, the Brittany Spaniel is overall quite well mannered and polite. The Brittany Spaniel generally works well with children and other pets if socialized properly throughout puppy-hood, like in any other breed early training of the Brittany Spaniel will go a long way in making it the perfect pet around the house.
Brittany Spaniel Health and Diseases
Brittany Spaniel are generally healthy and tough breed of dogs. The average lifespan of this breed is 12 to 14 years. Because of their long hanging ears, which keep moisture in the ear canal, this breed should have their ears cleaned regularly. Hip dysplasia is known to affect some members of the Brittany Spaniel breed. Epilepsy has also been known to occur in them. Asides from plenty of exercise, Brittanys are low-requirement, healthy dogs and are easy to handle. They need minimal grooming; once or twice a week is enough. Also, because of their medium-length coats, they shed little.
